Respite Care Facility Subspecialties

Respite Care:
Respite Care is an important part of the total support that families require to keep their child with a disability or serious chronic illness at home. It is short-term relief that allows a caregiver a break, that might otherwise have to place the individual in an institution outside of the home. Respite Care is designed specifically for children.
Respite Care Camp:
Respite Care Camp is offered for children with a chronic illness. These camps are a short-term 'break' for the caregivers of children that are challenged with severe mental and physical illnesses. This is a great experience for children that have high needs and wouldn't normally be able to attend a regular day camp.
Respite Care, Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities:
These are intellectual and/or physical disabilities that are long term. Respite care assists in helping the families of these people get a break and support. Stepping away from the stress involved in caring for a person with mental or physical disabilities is necessary in ensuring the health of the caretaker and well-being of the physically or mentally challenged person.
Respite Care, Mental Illness, Child:
This is short-term temporary relief for a family member caring for a child that might otherwise be placed in an institution outside of the home. This service offers breaks for the caregivers. Respite has been proven to help sustain family caregiver health and avoid the likelihood of abuse and neglect.
Respite Care, Physical Disabilities, Child:
Respite Care can be used to help a family that is caring for a child with physical disabilities. For example the child may be confined to a wheelchair or may not have use of their arms. Taking care of a 'high needs' child can be very stressful.
